Triple success at the Red Dot Design Award for BENKERT BÄNKE
Every year, products that impress with their exceptional design quality are honoured. The jury, consisting of 39 experts from 20 countries, assesses the entries according to the four basic principles of good design: functionality, seductive power, usability and a sense of responsibility.
Our Chalidor 700 series comprises seating groups, lounge furniture, benches and sun loungers made of stainless steel, whose flowing, curved shape is inspired by the course of the River Main. This robust and weatherproof ensemble is ideal for urban spaces as it is easy to handle and maintain. The stainless steel perforated panels are a special design feature that characterise the aesthetics of this series. The jury justified its decision with the words: “The high-quality and sustainably manufactured street furniture Chalidor 700 impresses with its durability and recyclability and scores with its unique aesthetics.” This series is manufactured by us, BENKERT BÄNKE in Königsberg, in collaboration with the designers at Toponeo Engel & Schneider (Sebastian Schneider) from Burgsinn.
Chalidor 800: Elegant park benches & more for the city
The Chalidor 800 street furniture series also impressed the jury with its sculptural elegance and airy aesthetics. Openwork, filigree patterns on the seat and backrest emphasise its lightness. The high level of robustness is the result of angled shapes and advanced welding technology. Chalidor 800, handmade in Germany from stainless steel, is available in a variety of colours, is easy to clean and fully recyclable after decades of use. The jury emphasised: “Chalidor 800 street furniture shines with its sophisticated design as well as its high-quality workmanship and durability.” This series is also manufactured by BENKERT BÄNKE in Königsberg, in collaboration with designer Antonio Mastrorilli from Gibillero Design in Milan, Italy. Linesca: Versatile modular bench for cities and parks
The LINESCA outdoor furniture series consists of stainless steel elements whose twelve modules can be combined to form straight, star-shaped or curved shapes. In combination with matching backrests, the benches invite people to linger in urban parks, schoolyards and playgrounds and serve as meeting points. The versatile connectors make handling easy. No more than two people are required to assemble, convert or extend the benches. The modules are available in countless colours and are 100 percent recyclable.
